Walk up the hardened lava-made ‘God’s fort’
Kamuichashi means a God’s fort in the Ainu language. The site commands a panoramic view of Volcano Bay, and it is worth taking 135 stairs to get there! The hard rock, formed through ancient submarine volcanic activities, is combined with sand beach, creating such a superb landscape. A monument standing at the Literature Monument Park reads the beauty.
