Follow in the footsteps of great explorers
The mountain path connects the towns of Toyoura and Oshamanbe across Rebunge Pass. It was one of the three hardest-to-go mountain paths in Hokkaido. However, two famous explorers crossed the track: a Japanese Matsuura Takeshiro in 1845 and a British Isabella Bird in 1878.
