略歴

	地球（北米地域、カリフォルニア州サンディエゴ）出身
1987年～1993年	米国空軍にて、火災救助隊員、救命士
1994年～1997年	青森県十和田市にて幼稚園教師、児童養護助士
1997年～2002年	青森県十和田市教育委員会にて、小学校英語教師
2002年～2008年	北海道伊達市（※当時、現在は豊浦町）NPO法人シュタイナースクールいずみの学校にて、英語教師及び青空教室指導員
2008年～	壮瞥町教育委員会にて、外国語指導助手（英語教師）兼通訳、課外活動指導

主な活動歴

• 壮瞥町教育委員会の一員として防災学習や壮瞥町子ども郷土史講座に参加
• 爺湖有珠山ジオパークの世界認定に伴い、案内看板やパンフレット等の翻訳業務に従事

得意分野

英語のネイティブスピーカーであり、ネイチャーセラピーや野外サバイバル術に詳しく、また、基本的応急処置の心得やライフガード・水泳インストラクターの経験もあります。

抱負や自己 PR など

子どもの頃から野宿をしながら自然散策や野外探険を続けてきました。そんな愛する大地の魅力を、子どもから大人まで、もちろん他の国の方々とも、大いに分かち合っていきたい。特に、子どもたちが大自然との接点を多く持ち、好奇心や健康を育み、恐怖や不安に立ち向かう強さを身につけていく手助けをしたいと考えています。子どもたちには、自然における逆境での経験と、あらゆるものが繋がりあっていることへの気づきの中で生きてほしいと願っています。

また、私たちが向き合っている自然の危険を知り火山災害に冷静に対処していくことの大切さを、学び、伝えていきたいとも考えています。季節や時間を問わず、皆さんと一緒にのんびりと経験や興味をシェアしていきたいです。「生きている地球」に深い尊敬の念を抱きながら、この美しい地域を守っていきましょう。

I have been exploring the wilderness and bivouacking since junior high school and am passionate about sharing this land we love with children or adults, and of course with those from other countries. My highest ambition would be to help children get back in contact with nature, regain their wonder and well-being, overcome fears, and live their lives strengthened by experiences with adversity in nature and an awareness of the interconnection of all things.

I also hope to help people know about the dangers and volcanic disasters that we face and why and how we can react to them calmly. Let’s get together at any hour or season for a saunter or to share our experiences and interests. And may we all preserve this beautiful area and feel reverence for the living Earth.
