Even today, it emits faint volcanic smoke, offering a close-up view of the Earth\u2019s dynamic forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right beside this living volcano stands <em>Darumaya<\/em>, a local souvenir shop with a history spanning over 60 years. Inoue Kanjyo is the second-generation owner of the shop. It recently regained attention after being featured on a local TV programme in Hokkaido.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading u-mb-ctrl u-mb-20 has-background\" style=\"background-color:#363636;font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">The Many Faces of Showa-Shinzan <br class=\"pc_\">\u201cI\u2019ll Continue Living Here, Side by Side with the Volcano\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center is-style-default u-mb-ctrl u-mb-40\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 40%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Inoue\u2019s favourite geosite is, of course, Mt Showa-Shinzan. \u201cIt changes with the seasons, even from the same viewpoint. Each moment is special in its own way\u2014quiet in the evening, beautiful in the snow, vibrant and green in June. The view from the ropeway\u2019s summit station is absolutely stunning.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After surviving two eruptions, Inoue shares a deep bond with the volcano.
